Testing the Moto Xoom 2

Based on my recent experience  using my tablet (Moto Xoom 2, Android, Uni belonging), I can report the following

  • During the lecture, I used the tablet to download and edit pdf handouts instead of paper-based ones using both Quick Office HD and ezPDF Reader. At the begining I felt it was still inconvenient but I got used to it and kept on editing notes by using the virtual keyboard as opposed to the  hand writing mode
  • It is a pity I did not work out how to take screen shots on this tablet
  • I found the tablet useful while writing parts of my reflection report for my Debates and Controversies module, in particular when I was in the library with limited computer facilities
  • I now rely on the tablet for everything I do, whenever I need to read or edit documents as well as during my spare time
  • Some suggestions to improve the device: tablet pen, more intelligent system, faster operation speed,  bigger screen and various colours to be selected.

To sum up, if this tablet has seminar usage with Android smartphone without more innovation and outstanding perfpormances, I would rather use my smartphone only. But it still helps me a lot with documents reading and editing!

Anyway, Have a nice weekend everyone!!

Recent impression on my tablet.

—-Motorola XOOM 2—-

Although I have to say there was less passion for me to open it during lecture before because of the limited screen and incovenient on/off button design, on the other hand, it is easy to take out. Then i still realize the meaning of this pilot project, that is, try to make full use of the tablet and expore its merit as much as I can. Since last meeting, i found everyone is using more fantastic apps on study than me, i need to go back to my little poor tablet which might be suffering from a little bit ignorance by me. Perhaps I kept using Android on my smartphone while studying too much before, more convenient as i think , but I am now trying to take advantage of the tablet all the time. The exemplified units for study are course revision and case study preparation , which make me feel extremely cool sometimes so that i can get rid of paper based documents . I am keen on using the tablet to read e-books, in particular when i am in the library i dont have to go computer cluster and just bring it with me thus i can check portal every time , i also dont have to go some seats beside power socket caz it really has an fantastic advantage that can keep alive for several hours. Anyway, reading e-books, convenient operation interface and  google map are the functions i appreciate most.

To be honest, however, I still need time to get use to writing everything in an electronic way, but it for sure will be fine. I ve own the apps which are required recently and i will try to use it more efficiently, especially during the lecture.

A Good thing is i rely on the tablet more than i expected before and i have got a rising attitude toward it.

Impressions for MOTOROLA XOOM 2

Actually when I realize I should come here and write something, I found myself the last one… caz I really didn’t have any increasing passion with my XOOM 2 after the first week..

First, personal reasons–During Lectures, I perfer to write all the notes on handout rather than take the tablet out of my bag because I am so easy to be ditracted from funny apps. After lecture, I still find it is a effective tool to enhance my procrastination….

Second, as to the tablet itself, Although it is small enough and easy to take, it is less beautiful with dark colour. Also, When I open several apps at the same time, the reaction speed is a little bit slow and it is really inconvinient to find the on/off button each time caz it has been designed at the back.

But I regularly use it to check dictionary , map and search information..seems I should take more advantage of it in an intensive way, OK, we will see..
